Metalloids
Metalloids are elements found between metals and non-metals on the periodic table, and have characteristics found in both. Metalloids closer to the left side of the periodic table tend to lose electrons, similar to metals. Those closer to the right tend to gain electrons, like non-metals. They are solid, malleable and ductile, and can be either shiny or dull. Metalloids have the ability toconduct electricity and heat, but not as well as metals. The properties of metalloids vary.
